Kurt Vile
Documents young love in 'Baby's Arms'
July 6, 2011 12:40 PM
Fashion photographer and filmmaker Todd Cole's video for Kurt Vile's "Baby's Arms" - a cut from his excellent new album Smoke Ring for My Halo - emphasizes the gentle romance of the song by documenting the close relationship of a young couple living in East Los Angeles. Cole filmed the entire clip using a Windows Phone, which gives the footage an unpolished yet clean look. The video is astonishingly intimate, to the point where watching the clip can feel a bit voyeuristic. It's a genuine and quite beautiful glimpse into a couple's private world.
