Tumblr-rap queen Kitty Pryde has resurfaced with a video for "Dead Island," a Grimes-approved single from her upcoming EP, D.A.I.S.Y. Rage. Over a well-traveled sample from Major Lazor's "Pon de Floor," Pryde tosses off sardonic high school boasts ("Bitch, draw your eyebrows on, then talk to me") and sounds a touch more engaged than she did on her breakout track, "Okay Cupid," Number 17 on Rolling Stone's Best Songs of 2012.
The visuals, directed by STEAMCLAM, depict Pryde as a flower child hovering around a sparkling chandelier – a glitzier, though no less Internet-friendly space than we've seen her in before. No doubt it's just a small taste of what's to come.
