Keith Richards plays guitar in one of the biggest rock bands in the world, but he and Jimmy Fallon talked mostly about lemons when the Rolling Stones co-founder stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon recalled a previous conversation with Richards about the grapefruit-sized lemons the guitarist cultivates, and one he gave to Fallon as a gift. In return, Fallon had master chef Mario Batalli turn the citrus into a jar of Moroccan preserve lemons that the host gave back to Richards, before planting the leftover seeds in a little Dixie cup.
For his big reveal, Fallon produced the now-potted sprouting plant (with an appropriate wail of, "Circle of Life") and quipped that, according to his research, he'll see the fruits of his labors in about 19 years. "Hey, with this one, don't be surprised if it starts to 'Jack-and-the-Bean-Stalk' on ya," Richards replied with a grin.
