In Kacey Musgraves' new video for "Follow Your Arrow," the breakout country star entices a bunch of dudes to break out in dance as she sings along in short shorts and western outfits. The song is her latest single off her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, which earned her a CMA Award for New Artist of the Year and, more recently, helped propel her to a Best New Artist Grammy nomination.
While the video for "Follow Your Arrow" is a rather cute affair, the song's subject matter is a bit different for traditional country music – it's critical of small-town hypocrisy and encourages homosexual hookups and sparking joints (if that's what you're into.) Musgraves performed the song on national TV during the CMA Awards, after which she told Rolling Stone that "it's super awesome that country music has been so supportive of my message."
Recently, she confirmed that she's already thinking about a follow-up to Trailer. "I'm really pumped to get the ball rolling on being creative again," she said.
