Justin Timberlake is marking the March 19th release of his new album, The 20/20 Experience (streaming now on iTunes), with a full week of appearances on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Last night he kicked off the run with a fresh performance of "Pusher Love Girl" and a loopy chat with Fallon. The two friends talked Kanye West, Timberlake's entry into SNL's "Five-Timers' Club" and keeping his new album a secret from even Fallon.
Q&A: Justin Timberlake on How Acting Shaped His New Album
Kanye took a swipe at Timberlake last month, telling a London audience, "I got love for Hov, but I ain't fucking with that 'Suit and Tie.'" Timberlake seemingly had his playful revenge with his SNL appearance last weekend, swapping the song's lyrics from "Shit so sick got a hit and picked up a habit" to "My hit's so sick got rappers acting dramatic." When asked about the lyric change by Fallon, Timberlake played innocent. "Did I change lyrics?," he said. "You know, really, everyone, keep calm." Fallon replied, "Keep calm and Kanye on." Timberlake still professed a love for Kanye, but grinned as he added, "Were lyrics changed? I don't remember."
Struck with a cold, Timberlake still belted out "Pusher Love Girl" while jacked up on meds and a goofy attitude. "I'm on some weird drugs right now, anything could happen on national TV!" joked Timberlake. He just makes it look so easy.
