Joseph Arthur and Jeff Ament Bring Folk Flair to 'If I Needed You'
Singer-songwriter and Pearl Jam guitarist unite for charity compilation

Singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur gets stark accompaniment from Pearl Jam guitarist Jeff Ament in this exclusive clip for "If I Needed You," shot live in the studio in black-and-white. Lifted from the forthcoming charity compilation Sweet Relief III: Pennies From Heaven (out September 3rd), the track's harmonica-laden approach evokes elements of Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline.

As with previous Sweet Relief compilations, the third installment – which comes on the 20th anniversary of the first – will benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund for struggling artists. The disc boasts an array of high-profile artists, including Jackson Browne, She and Him, Ben Harper, Ron Sexsmith, k.d. lang, Shelby Lynne and more; all chose songs with themes of support and assistance.

"Musicians are always among the first to give their energy and talent to help other people in times of emergency, though they are very often without health insurance themselves and need our support when they fall prey to illness and hardship," Browne said in a statement. "Sweet Relief has been helping musicians for years, and has helped some whom I am very much indebted to for enriching my life. I am very happy to take part in this CD project, and for the chance to support Sweet Relief's very soulful work."
