Joe Satriani Prepares for the Heat in 'A Door Into Summer' - Premiere
Guitar virtuoso remembers his adolescence

Joe Satriani gears up for the sweltering next few months and recalls his own adolescence in his video for "A Door Into Summer." In the new clip, the guitarist heads for Skywalker Studios to begin recording a new album, black-and-white cinematography giving poignancy to the behind-the-scenes shots. Then, like winter thaw, the starker shades cede to vibrant, full color as Satriani's strings broaden into a powerful wail.

"The song celebrates the coming of summer and the promise of adventure, fun and coming of age," Satriani tells Rolling Stone. "It's a song about my high school memories lasting a lifetime and still giving me that good feeling when summer rolls around."

"A Door Into Summer" will be on Satriani's new album, Unstoppable Momentum, out May 7th on Epic.
