Jerry Seinfeld to Collaborate With Wale on New Album
Comedian says his wife is a huge fan of the rapper

Back in 2008, Wale unleashed The Mixtape About Nothing, a concept album built around Seinfeld. Using dialogue samples from the show, track titles inspired by its episode names, and a cameo from Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the Washington, DC rapper revealed to the world a serious obsession with the sitcom. Wale is now revisiting the source material, and taking it a step further, by collaborating on a new album with Jerry Seinfeld himself. Seinfeld recently explained in a video how the collaboration came to be.

"Wale called me, he came to my show, we hung out a little bit," Seinfeld says. "He wanted me to do something with him. I didn't understand it. But he did." When the comedian told his wife about the project, he discovered that she was a huge fan of the rapper, though she had somehow missed out on the earlier Seinfeld work. "We're living together, she's into him, he's into me, and I didn't know about the whole thing."

This isn't the first time Seinfeld has considered delving into hip-hop: He once approached Diddy with the idea of collaborating on a project. "Hip-hop's words, right? And I do words," he told the mogul.
