Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Joins Team Christina on 'The Voice' - Premiere
Green Day frontman steps in as mentor on singing show

For better or worse, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been in the spotlight a lot lately and it doesn't look like he's leaving it anytime soon. Starting tonight, the punk-rocker will join Christina Aguilera as a mentor on Season Three of The Voice on NBC.

Although Xtina's "Beautiful" doesn't have a ton in common with his band's "American Idiot," Armstrong is still glad to be on Team Christina. "I think we're a good pairing, and it's been great," he says in the clip before going on to talk about his own musical inspirations, Green Day's upcoming world tour and the band's new trilogy of albums Uno, Dos and Tré.

The Voice airs tonight at 8 p.m. EST.
