'Glee' Cast
Covers David Bowie's 'Fashion'
Colleen Nika

Sure to be the most polarizing cover of the season, the video premiere for the Glee cast's take on David Bowie's classic synth-funk hit, "Fashion," has arrived. Directed by Jake Nava, it's a flashy and literal tour de force, with the cast strutting the catwalks. Ringleader Lea Michele commands the song vocally, and pilots the video accordingly, sporting a series of glittering Balmain microdresses, while the rest of the Glee kids primp and preen and harmonize in the background. Sue Sylvester is dependable riot, swiping faux coquettishly at the camera, in keeping with fashion's "fierce" attitudinal expectations. While the song is guaranteed to push the tolerance of more than a few diehard Bowie fans, the real test will be to see how warmly the fashion community welcomes the Glee gang to their inner sanctum. With a feature in September's Vogue, the cast also serve as official ambassadors for Fashion's Night Out on September 8th. This video serves as their proverbial invite to the party — are you in?
