Fiona Apple Sings McCartney's 'Let Me Roll It' on 'Fallon'
Singer pays tribute to the Beatle on his 70th birthday
June 19, 2012 8:30 AM
Fiona Apple stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night to chat with the host and perform a cut from her astonishing new album, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do. Afterwards, she was joined by the Roots for a run-through of the Wings classic "Let Me Roll It" in tribute to Paul McCartney, who turned 70 yesterday. When the song was over, Apple appeared entirely giddy as she wished the Beatle a happy birthday.
