During the first weekend of Coachella, Fanfarlo traveled all the way from their native London only to be felled by car trouble outside the event grounds. "We were gutted because there were so many good bands on Friday. We wanted to see Pulp and Mazzy Star and all these bands," lamented singer-guitarist Simon Balthazar at Rolling Stone's Rock Room party during the second weekend of the festival. "Then, five miles outside the festival, we hear this pshhhhhh and we keep driving…We'd blown his huge truck tire and had to wait four or five hours for a rescue mission."
As the folk-rockers tour in support of Rooms Filled with Light, their second album, they're also finding inspiration for the next one – and their most productive moments can surface in surprising places. "We were doing something yesterday in L.A. for Universal, I think, and we just ended up playing in this office to ourselves, basically, just entertaining ourselves," recalled bassist Justin Finch.
