Emmylou Harris and Steve Earle
Honor Townes Van Zandt with 'Fort Worth Blues'
April 29, 2011 12:30 PM
Emmylou Harris – whose new album Hard Bargain just hit stores – performed a mini concert at Sirius/XM headquarters earlier this week. You can check out an exclusive performance of her duet with Steve Earle here. Both of them were friends with Townes Van Zandt, so it made perfect sense for them to play Earle's Van Zandt tribute "Fort Worth Blues." "Townes was very close to me," Harris tells Rolling Stone. "That song is about when Steve got the news about his death."
