Chromeo and Oliver rework the disco singer's 1982 hit

Influential disco artist Donna Summer is the subject of a new remix record, Love to Love You Donna, slated for release on October 22nd. The first single and video from the project is this Chromeo and Oliver reworking of her 1982 Top 10 hit "Love Is in Control (Pull the Trigger)," which fuses vintage vocals and classic footage of the singer – replete with Jheri Curls and shiny outfits – to new beats and instrumentation. As the first of 12 re-imagined Summer numbers from the dance music world's highly sought-after DJs and remixers, the clip makes a case to old fans and newcomers alike that Summer's pipes are always and forever.

Which Donna Summer Tune Ranks on Our Best Summer Songs List?

Perhaps the album's namesake and Summer's 1975 debut, "Love to Love You Baby," best displays the timelessness of her work. An entirely re-tooled version of the song by the original producer, Giorgio Moroder, will serve as the second official offering from Love to Love You Donna. Pre-order the album here.
