Bruce Springsteen Sings 'The Weight' in Levon Helm's Honor
'Levon's voice and drumming was so incredibly versatile,' says rocker

Bruce Springsteen wrapped up the first leg of his Wrecking Ball tour last night at Newark's Prudential Center with a blazing three-hour show that featured the first live performance of the uber-rarity "Bishop Danced" since February 3rd, 1973, and an impromptu cover of "The Weight" in honor of the late Levon Helm. "He was one of the greatest, greatest voices in country, rockabilly and rock & roll," Springsteen said. "Levon's voice and drumming was so incredibly versatile. He had a feel on the drums...it comes from a certain place in the past and you can't replicate it." (We'll forgive Bruce for repeatedly mispronouncing Levon's name.)
