At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last night, 1992 inductee Booker T. Jones said fellow performer Gary Clark Jr. will appear on Jones' upcoming album, Sound the Alarm. "The reason I think Gary and I clicked is because his roots are from Austin, Texas," Jones, the former leader of the Stax Records house band, told Rolling Stone. "He was raised by the old blues guys down on Congress Avenue . . . We both are just blues aficionados."
Jones, whose Grammy-winning 2011 album The Road From Memphis featured members of the Roots, Jim James, Sharon Jones and the National's Matt Berninger, said he feels rejuvenated. "Although I've been doing it for a long time, I'm completely reborn now in the music," he said. "I have a musical power that I've never had before, and I'm so happy and grateful for it."
