"The second record is something I try to avoid thinking about, but also can't stop thinking about at the same time," Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino told Rolling Stone backstage at a benefit concert for Planned Parenthood at the Manhattan club Le Poisson Rouge. Cosentino – who plans to go back into the studio in October – says her new songs will borrow a lot from classic country music artists such as her hero Loretta Lynn. "I've been working on trying to find a way to blend the classic pop stuff that I do with this new country thing that I've been exploring a lot," she says. "It's not going to be a country record at all. I think a lot of people are getting scared when I say that."
