Watch the Who's Throwback Video for New Single 'Be Lucky'

The band's latest clip features candid footage recorded in the Sixties and Seventies

This fall, the Who celebrated their 50th anniversary with a major tribute show and a new greatest hits LP. The latter, The Who Hits 50!, opens with a track by the High Numbers (the foursome's pre-Who R&B group) and continues through "Be Lucky," a new song released specifically for the album.

Above, watch the "Be Lucky" music video, a collection of archival footage that itself spans most of the band's career. While the music plays, we see a baby-faced Pete Townshend strumming his guitar, John Entwistle playing a unique rectangular bass and the whole unit performing in the middle of a park. The song's lyrics – couplets like "You wanna climb out without a safety line/Daft Punk will tell you that it's gonna be fine" – are super-imposed in a Lichtenstein-esque comic book font.

Royalties from "Be Lucky" will go toward the Teen Cancer America organization. The Who Hits 50! can be purchased here.
