President Lyndon B. Johnson, 1965

President Lyndon B. Johnson addresses a joint session of Congress in Washington, D.C., on March 15th, 1965. He was outlining his proposals for voting rights for all citizens. Vice President Hubert Humphrey is at left and House Speaker John McCormack is at right.  Johnson adopted the phrase, "We Shall Overcome" during this historical speech.
