Journalists Exposed as Secret CIA Operatives

The groundbreaking piece exposed the fact that more than 400 American journalists, including reporters for The New York Times, Associated Press and Reuters, doubled as CIA operatives. "Journalists provided a full range of clandestine services — from simple intelligence-gathering to serving as go-betweens with spies in Communist countries," Bernstein wrote.
