Nate Dogg, a vocalist with a distinct style that blended the rhythm and cadences of rap with the melody of smooth R&B, has a unique place in popular music: He was a big star known almost exclusively for his guest appearances on hits by other performers. "Regulate," his 1994 smash with longtime collaborator Warren G, is his most famous performance and the song that made him one of the most sought-after hook singers in hip hop.
