On February 11, 1964 over eight thousand frenzied Beatles fans packed themselves into the Washington Coliseum in Washington, D.C. for the first ever American performance by the fab four. Eighteen year old photographer Mike Mitchell was there to capture every moment which included an opening cover of  Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven"  and Little Richard's  "Long Tall Sally" as the finale.

After nearly fifty years these photographs have been rediscovered and are now up for auction through Christie's.
