"Anders started writing this song while we were driving down to Knoxville to record the album. It was kind of crazy because we already had about 13 or 14 songs ready to record, but since we both really liked it we made time to finish it – and record it – while we were down there," Kendall Meade tells Rolling Stone. "Even though it was the last song written, it's become the theme song of the record."
