Weiland Recovers From Seizure, Plots Stone Temple Pilots Tour

September 22, 2009 1:52 PM ET

Scott Weiland wasn't going to let something like a little seizure prevent him from performing this weekend: As Rolling Stone reported late Friday, Weiland suffered a mild seizure on a flight from Los Angeles to Miami, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Dallas. After a brief visit to the hospital, Weiland — who was in "good spirits" after recovering — caught a flight to Miami and made it in time for his scheduled hour-long solo performance at the city's Mansion venue, TMZ reports.

The quick-healing Weiland and the rest of the Stone Temple Pilots also announced that they'll hit the road next month for a jaunt of the States in October and a raid on Canada in November. Weiland and the gang will then bid goodbye to 2009 with a New Year's Day show in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Check out the tour as it stands now below:

“All Along the Watchtower”

The Jimi Hendrix Experience | 1968

Jimi Hendrix got hold of Bob Dylan's early John Wesley Harding tapes and in late 1967 recorded a version of "All Along the Watchtower" with the Experience in London. Dissatisfied with that first development, Hendrix brought those tapes with him to New York in early 1968 when he began work on Electric Ladyland. Eddie Kramer, Hendrix's engineer at the time, told Rolling Stone that Hendrix "was still looked upon by his basically white audience as the mammoth black guitar hero. There was a constant fight within him to expand himself." Hendrix's successful take on Dylan's work has long been recognized by the songwriter. "I liked Jimi Hendrix's record of this and ever since he died I've been doing it that way," Dylan wrote in the liner notes to his Biograph box set. "Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it's a tribute to him in some kind of way."
