The 1990s were a huge time for music videos. Labels were basically minting money by selling $18 CDs, and giving bands a budget of $1 million to make a crazy video didn't seem like a huge expense. Gone were the days when a band took four hours to shoot a video at their rehearsal space. Suddenly, Axl Rose was swimming with dolphins and Michael Jackson was dancing with Janet on a spaceship. The more high-concept, the more plays it got on MTV.

Now we have a question for you: What is the single greatest video of the 1990s? Vote for whatever you want, from "November Rain" to "Jeremy" to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to "All the Small Things" to "…Baby One More Time." Any video is fair game as long as it hit the airwaves between January 1st, 1990 and December 31st, 1999. Just please only vote once and only for a single video.

“Bizness”

Tune-Yards | 2011

The opening track to Merrill Garbus’ second album under the Tune-Yards banner (she also plays in the trio Sister Suvi), “Bizness” is a song about relationships that is as colorful as the face paint favored by Garbus both live and in her videos. Disjointed funk bass, skittering African beats, diced-and-sliced horns and Garbus’ dynamic voice, which ranges from playful coos to throat-shredding howls, make “Bizness” reminiscent of another creative medium. “I'd like for them not to be songs as much as quilts or collages or something,” Garbus said.
