The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne has taken the old adage "Bleed for your art" to a whole new level, using vials of his own blood to provide the ink for a one-of-a-kind screen print poster commemorating the band"s recent Austin City Limits festival gig.
"We've never really done it before. We thought it would be silly to use some chicken blood or something," Coyne explains in the video above. Watch Coyne create the poster, including a hilarious false start where he forgets to load the paper in, above. The poster is expected to hit the auction block at some point — the band writes "Let the bidding begin!" in the caption under the video ̵2 but so far no information has been revealed about its sale.
