Nathaniel Rateliff & the Cold Sweats take decades to land that elusive perfect studio session in their hilarious video for "I Need Never Get Old." The soul-rock band grow disgruntled throughout the clip, with Rateliff descending into pure mania – eventually going shirtless and trying to saw a bass guitar.
As the sessions grow more insane, the band throws on firefighter helmets (a la Brian Wilson); they even sneak in another Beach Boys reference with Rateliff crunching celery into the microphone, as Paul McCartney famously did for the group's "Vegetables." The obsession pays off by the video's climax, with the band performing in the same room – only with grey hair and grown-out beards.
