Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato paid tribute to the victims of the tragic Orlando nightclub shooting Saturday during their concert at the Florida city's Amway Center, with the Future Now tour mates joined onstage by Andra Day for a moving rendition of that singer's "Rise Up."
Prior to the performance, Jonas and Lovato welcomed a man named Hank to the stage who remembered the victims of the Pulse massacre with a word of prayer. "Orlando, you've been through a lot. In the last month, you've had two shootings, one of which was the most deadly shooting in all of America's history," Hank said. "So we want to pause in the midst of this exciting night… we can to pause and say a prayer, a prayer of healing."
Day then joined the two singers on stage for a bare, piano-led rendition of "Rise Up," with all three singers trading lines before coming together on the chorus. As they sang, the name and ages of those killed in the Pulse shooting were projected on the large screen behind them.
As TMZ notes, Lovato and Jonas invited the Pulse staff to the Orlando concert, where the employees were given VIP treatment.
