Dan Auerbach served as musical guest on Friday's episode of The Late Show, with the Black Keys singer performing a pair of tracks from his upcoming solo LP Waiting on a Song.

During the televised portion of the Late Show, Auerbach and his backing band of Nashville vets played rollicking "Shine On Me." As a post-show bonus, the guitarist whipped out "King of a One Horse Town" for the Ed Sullivan Theatre audience.

Waiting on a Song is due out June 2nd. For the album, Auerbach teamed with artists like John Prine (who co-wrote the title track) as well as guitar legends Duane Eddy and Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler, Johnny Cash bassist Dave Roe, drummer Gene Chrisman, pianist Bobby Wood and engineer David "Fergie" Ferguson.

"These guys tell me they're genuinely thrilled to be here because we're making records like they used to," Auerbach told Rolling Stone of his upcoming album.

Waiting on a Song marks Auerbach's first solo LP since 2009's Keep It Had and the guitarist's first album since his side project the Arcs released Yours, Dreamily in September 2015.
