Watch Bruce Springsteen Pay Tribute to Glenn Frey With 'Take It Easy' Cover

E Street rocker remembers Eagles guitarist at Chicago concert

Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to late Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey at his Chicago concert Tuesday with a cover of "Take It Easy"

It's been a hard few weeks in the music world as a pair of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees — David Bowie and Glenn Frey — have passed away. Just as Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to his early supporter Bowie with a cover of "Rebel Rebel" at his River Tour-opening gig in Pittsburgh, the E Street rocker also remembered the Eagles guitarist Tuesday night at Chicago's United Center with a moving, acoustic rendition of "Take It Easy."

Fans raised their cell phones and lighters in the air for the touching tribute, which concluded with Springsteen simply saying, "Glenn Frey." Springsteen does have some experience performing the Eagles classic as he previously covered the track, co-written by Jackson Browne, with Browne himself at a September 2015 concert in Red Bank, New Jersey.
