Hall & Oates enlisted the Blue Jean Committee - the soft-rock duo played by Bill Hader and Fred Armisen - to help them announce their summer tour

Hall & Oates will hit the road this summer for a string of tour dates, and to announce the trek, the duo enlisted the Blue Jean Committee, the soft-rock supergroup whose life story was recently featured on IFC's Documentary Now!. In the video, the Catalina Breeze band – portrayed by Fred Armisen and Bill Hader – talk about their touring days with Hall & Oates.

"What do you think of when you think of the Seventies? When you think of beautiful harmonies, you think of a duo who sing together to make hit songs. You think of the Blue Jean Committee and that's who we are," Armisen's Gene Allen says in the tour announcement video. Hader's Clark Honus adds, "Who you think of fifth, or maybe eighth, is Daryl Hall and John Oates. You know who used to open for us? Who we used to kick around? Daryl Hall and John Oates!"

The Blue Jean Committee then reveal they used to tease and prank Hall & Oates because they were from Philadelphia, but there is some lasting bitterness between the two duos. "The minute they hit it big, they just left us in the dust," Honus says. "They don't really talk to us anymore, and that was a real Philly thing to do."

For Hall & Oates' upcoming trek, which kicks off May 13th in Dallas, special guests Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will join the duo on the road. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 12th at Live Nation.

Hall & Oates are currently on the road wrapping up their winter trek, which includes a February 19th concert at New York's Madison Square Garden.
