The Roots Recruit 'Broad City' to Announce Picnic Lineup

Usher, Future, Leon Bridges, DMX, Jidenna, Kehlani set for day-long Philadelphia festival

The Roots tapped Abbi and Ilana from 'Broad City' to share this year's Roots Picnic lineup, which features Usher, Future, Leon Bridges and more

The Roots have tapped Broad City's Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer to share the lineup for this year's stacked Roots Picnic in a hilarious video which finds the pair plotting a packed festival itinerary.

The 9th annual festival will feature headlining sets from Usher (backed by the Roots), Future and Leon Bridges. Also slated to perform during the day-long event: Blood Orange, Swizz Beatz, DMX, Kehlani, Kaytranada, Ibeyi, Migos, Jidenna, Metro Boomin, Lil Dicky, Anderson .Paak, Willow Smith, Lolawolf, Everyday People featuring DJ Moma, Paris Monster, Rich Medina, Tish Hyman, Lil Uzi Vert and Gogo Morrow.

In the announcement video, Abbi breathlessly maps out the perfect Picnic plan and tries to not let Ilana's DMX references or salacious asides about Lolawolf's Zoë Kravitz or Blood Orange's Dev Hynes distract her. Abbi's chaotic plan ends up taking the shape of Ben Franklin's head, but both she and Ilana are left wondering who the accidental portrait looks like. "Someone smart," Abbi suggests.

The Roots Picnic will take place June 4th at the Festival Pier in Philadelphia. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday at 12 p.m. ET via the festival's website.
