For the follow-up to their 2011 break-out The Big Roar, the Joy Formidable retired to the small town of Casco, Maine, to construct their next album, Wolf's Law. Set for release on January 22nd from Canvasback Music and Atlantic Records, you can hear Wolf's Law in all its fuzz-bombed glory. First single and opener "This Ladder Is Ours" offers a taste of the hard rocking heights to come as the Joy Formidable push their earworm riffs into heavier territory on the punishing "Bats" and quick ripper "Little Blimp." Ritzy Bryan's voice soars sweetly atop a head-banging chorus on "Maw Maw," while "The Leopard and the Lung" balances pensive pianos, silken synths and thunderous guitars as it builds to a triumphant rock catharsis.
