The Arcs have unveiled their spring tour dates, which include their previously announced Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival appearances, in support of 2015's Yours, Dreamily. The band will kick things off in Vancouver, BC, on April 11th at Commodore Ballroom and this leg of the tour wraps on April 30th at House of Blues in New Orleans.
The band released "Lake Superior" earlier this month, which was inspired by Netflix's Making a Murderer. Proceeds from the song benefit the non-profit Innocence Project, which assists in exonerating wrongly convicted people.
Black Keys/Arcs frontman Dan Auerbach has been prolific of late. In addition to the Arcs writing and releasing "Lake Superior" in just two days, Auerbach is also working on a soundtrack album for the Murder Ballads comic book series, which is described as a "rock 'n' roll noir story about the music industry and redemption." The lyrics will trace the characters and plotlines from the comics. The LP will be written and performed by Auerbach, with contributions from other musicians, including the Dirtbombs/Gories' Mick Collins. The series is expected to be released in the fall.
