Blake Shelton unveiled the video for his moody new single "Came Here to Forget" during the Discovery Channel crab-fishing series Deadliest Catch Tuesday night.
The black-and-white clip finds the singer nursing both a broken heart and a drink in a seaside locale, where he meets and gets flirty with a woman in a bar. He may be in paradise but as he watches the waves crash and his new friend dance, he sings about two people dousing the memories of old flames by lighting new ones in classic misery-loves-company fashion. (Apparently getting over an old love by getting under a new one is a popular theme in Nashville at the moment: "Came Here to Forget" mines a similar lyrical vein as Luke Bryan’s current hit duet with Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild "Home Alone Tonight.")
"Came Here to Forget" is the first single from The Voice coach's upcoming album If I'm Honest, due out May 20th.
