Veteran rockers Rival Schools are returning to the spotlight with the reissue of United by Fate, their breakthrough 2001 album. The disc includes a rare song called "The Sweet," originally recorded during those album sessions but never released; it captures the intensity of the era with rough, post-hardcore rhythms and and barbed, progressive rock guitars.
In addition to "The Sweet," the album reissue includes four other bonus tracks and will be available as a deluxe edition on colored vinyl. Founding member Walter Schreifels is excited about the many memories that the physical record will stir up.
"I'm looking forward to scouring the gatefold for old photos and credits, reminiscing about the people and places that came before," he tells Rolling Stone.
The reissue of United by Fate is slated for release on November 12th and available for pre-order. The band is also set to hit the road with Jimmy Eat World that month for a European tour.
