Ringo Starr and his 2012 All Starr Band are contributing a live version of his steadily grooving cut "Wings" – a track the former Beatle wrote in 1977 but re-recorded for his last album, Ringo 2012 – to an upcoming Hurricane Sandy charity compilation, Songs After Sandy: Friends of Red Hook for Sandy Relief.

The compilation features contributions from Jeff Lynne, Joan Osborne, Joe Walsh and Bob Weir, and it is available for pre-order through PledgeMusic. All proceeds will go to Restore Red Hook, Red Hook Initiative and Occupy Sandy. Hear Ringo's donation above.
