Beyoncé will perform during halftime at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on February 3rd, 2013, The Associated Press reports. While an official announcement is expected Wednesday, Beyonce took to her Tumblr ostensibly confirming the show a not so inconspicuous portrait that finds "Feb. 3" and "2013" scribbled on two strips of tape mimicing eye-black, which football players use to stop the glare from the sun.
It will be the second Super Bowl appearance for the superstar: Beyoncé sang the national anthem in 2004 when the NFL held its championship game in her hometown of Houston. This year's Super Bowl will be the first held in New Orleans since 2002, and will certainly be one of the most watched television events of the year.
In fact, the halftime show has the potential to outdraw the game itself: Madonna's halftime performance last year, which featured guest appearances from Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and M.I.A., drew 114 million viewers, according to Nielsen SoundScan, compared to an estimated 111.3 million who watched the actual game.
