Rising soul singer Leon Bridges introduced himself to mainstream audiences in December with a Saturday Night Live musical guest spot, and the crooner will have another opportunity to endear himself to new fans and showcase his impressive talents on Saturday's episode of Austin City Limits. Rolling Stone exclusively presents a preview of Bridges' ACL performance with a rousing take on his bluesy rave-up "Better Man."
Bridges, whose debut LP Coming Home is nominated for Best R&B Album at this year's Grammys, was backed by Austin's White Denim for the ACL performance. "My name is Leon Bridges and I am straight out of Fort Worth Texas, baby," the singer told the crowd. Coming Home was also named one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Albums of 2015.
Bridges will split his episode of Austin City Limits, the penultimate episode in the venerable music program's stellar 41st season, with Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. That breakout Denver soul outfit similarly shared "I Need Never Get Old" from their ACL performance.
