"'Point of Surrender' was probably the first song I wrote directly inspired by tour," says River City Extensions' Joe Michelini. "I spent the night with this beautiful stranger in this beautiful town; it was all very foreign and very inspiring to me. I was in a relationship back home at the time that I realized I wasn't ready for, and I think I got my first taste of growing up in a sense. When I got home I wrote 'Point of Surrender,' asking what it meant to be true to someone, and wondering where this new and exciting romance was headed."
