Former Bad Boy Entertainment president Kirk Burrowes has filed a $25 million lawsuit against former business partner Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, claiming that the rapper/mogul threatened him and bilked him out of millions.
Burrowes is accusing Combs of entering his office with a baseball bat and coercing him to sign over his stake in Bad Boy, which he co-founded with Combs in 1992. Burrowes said that Combs later apologized, but never rectified their financial differences. The suit, filed in federal court in New York City Monday, charges Combs with racketeering and breach of contract.
Combs called the allegations "pure fantasy" in a statement. "Kirk Burrowes hasn't been employed for seven years and now he makes up a fictional story for financial gain," Combs said. "He should be ashamed of himself."
Burrowes' allegations aren't the first time Combs has been accused of office intimidation. In 1999 Interscope Records executive Steve Stoute accused Combs and two associates of beating him with a champagne bottle, chair and telephone for refusing to cut Combs out of a Nas video. Combs admitted that he "lost his cool," but maintained that he didn't assault Stoute with any of the described articles and that Stoute's claims of a broken arm and jaw were false. He was charged with second-degree harassment and sentenced to one day of anger management counseling.
