Louisville's own My Morning Jacket will headline the city's annual Forecastle Festival this year, along with Sam Smith, Widespread Panic and Modest Mouse. The three-day festival is scheduled to take place from July 17th to the 19th at the Waterfront Park, located next to the Ohio River.

Other regional acts set to play Forecastle include Cage the Elephant and Houndmouth, while Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and his son Spencer Tweedy will take the stage as Tweedy. Other performers include Tallest Man on Earth, First Aid Kit, RL Grime, Desaparecidos, Portugal. The Man, Big K.R.I.T., the Gaslight Anthem, The Word, Cold War Kids, Sturgill Simpson, iLoveMakonnen, Speedy Ortiz, JEFF the Brotherhood, Diarrhea Planet, King Tuff, Fly Golden Eagle, Alvvays and Shovels and Rope. A full list of the initial lineup is available on the Forecastle website, and additional artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Weekend passes for this year's festival go on sale Friday, January 30th at 12 p.m. EST via the Forecastle website and Ticketmaster. A limited number of passes will be priced at $144.50, plus fees. VIP tickets, travel packages, as well as single day tickets and late-night show tickets will also be available.

Modest Mouse's headlining set at Forecastle is only their second live date surrounding the release of their new album, Strangers to Ourselves, which arrives March 3rd via Epic (they'll play the Gasparilla Music Festival in Tampa, Florida on March 7th). The band enlisted a handful of fans to help announce the LP, before dropping the album's first single "Lampshades on Fire," which has been a part of their live sets since 2011. Strangers to Ourselves marks Modest Mouse's first album in eight years, following 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank.
