"It was all rather wonderfully formal," said Mick Jagger after being knighted by Prince Charles on December 12th. In honor of the occasion. Sir Mick — joined by his ninety-two-year-old dad, Joe, and his daughters Elizabeth and Karis — wore his fanciest pair of sneakers. Jagger endured criticism from Keith Richards, who said, "I thought it was ludicrous to take one of those gongs from the Establishment when they did their best to throw us in jail." But Jagger, who was arrested with Richards in England for pot possession in 1967, took Richards' guff in stride, saying, "I don't think the Establishment as we knew it exists anymore."

“Oh Sherrie”

Steve Perry | 1984

Steve Perry's girlfriend Sherrie Swafford was actually in the studio when Perry began writing this song--his lone Top Ten hit as a solo act--with two co-writers. The trio began at midnight one night with just "Oh, Sherrie!" and "hold on, hold on." Three hours later, they had a complete song. Swafford, however, had to wait until the next day to hear it. "Sherrie actually got tired and went to bed," Perry said. She also appeared in the video, but their relationship did not hold on for long.
