Kate Moss dances in the dark in the stark, but striking, new video for Massive Attack's "Ritual Spirit," a cut featuring vocals from British singer-songwriter Azekel off the trip-hop pioneers' new EP of the same name.
Directed by Medium and Massive Attack's Robert "3D" Del Naja, the video finds Moss moving gracefully with the subtle, pulsing track and illuminated only by a lone light bulb swinging from a wire. Her dance is later chopped and frayed through visual effects that add a fitting psychedelic tinge to the already immersive visuals.
The "Ritual Spirit" video follows clips for EP tracks "Take It There" and "Voodoo in My Blood," which starred John Hawkes and Rosamund Pike, respectively. Massive Attack released Ritual Spirit in January, marking not only their first release since 2010, but their first to feature vocalist Adrian "Tricky" Thaws (who appears on "Take It There") since 1994's Protection.
Massive Attack will reportedly follow Ritual Spirit with another EP — this one written and co-produced by Grant "Daddy G" Marshall — this spring, with a full-length slated for later this year.
