A man was fatally shot backstage after a Wiz Khalifa concert in Mountain View, California on Friday night. The San Jose Mercury News reports that the unidentified 38-year-old was shot multiple times shortly after 11:00 p.m., just after the concert ended at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died on Saturday morning. No one else was injured during the incident.

Police are currently searching for the shooter, who witnesses say used a black handgun with a large clip. The motive for the shooting and the connection between the victim and the concert are currently under investigation. Police are also looking for any witnesses who can provide any information leading to an arrest.

Police spokesperson Shino Tanaka told local news station KTVU that they were also trying to figure out how the shooter brought the weapon into the venue. "We don't know that. This is an ongoing investigation. We will definitely try to determine how the individual was able to bring a firearm into Shoreline," said Tanaka.

Khalifa's Under the Influence of Music tour stop in Mountain View drew a crowd of 22,000 fans on Friday night. Earlier this week, on August 19th, the rapper released his fifth studio album, Blacc Hollywood, and he also contributed a track called "Shell Shocked" to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack.
