Madonna has announced a world tour in support of her new album, MDNA. The pop icon will kick off the tour with a concert in Tel Aviv, Israel on May 29th, and from there will move on Abu Dhabi and Istanbul before making her way through Europe. She will eventually arrive in North America and conclude that leg in Miami, though specific dates have not yet been revealed.
This announcement comes two days after the singer's performance at the Super Bowl, which attracted a record 114 million viewers, higher than the number of viewers for the game itself. The tour will be Madonna's second under her current contract with the tour promotion company Live Nation; tour stops in South America and Australia will be her first gigs in those regions in 20 years. Madonna's previous tour, Sticky & Sweet, ran between 2008 and 2009.
