Lionel Richie has postponed his spring tour with Mariah Carey, set to launch on March 15th in Baltimore, due to a recent knee surgery.

"When you have been performing as long as I have it takes a toll on your body," Richie said in a statement, noting that the 35-date tour will be rescheduled for this summer. "Unfortunately, my recovery from a knee procedure will not have me 100 percent ready to start the tour next month. I don't want to disappoint my fans, and I look forward to being back on stage so we can all be 'Dancing on the Ceiling' together again." All previously sold tickets will be honored.

Richie and Carey announced the tour in December after wrapping up their respective Las Vegas residencies. Richie was performing his All the Hits show at the Axis at Planet Hollywood while Carey's #1 to Infinity took place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. It will be the first time the duo tour together.

New tour dates will be announced at a later date for this summer.
