"'Lion or the Bee' was the very last song we wrote for this record. After a couple days of working with Franc again for the first time in years, there was this renewed energy every time I picked up a guitar. We already had too many songs for one record, but that one just poured out fully intact in a matter of minutes, and seemed like a natural opening track," Mountain Sounds' Tim Hoyt tells Rolling Stone. "I love the way Franc's lyrics in the third verse reference the crazy Guatemalan thunderstorms we recorded around; we lost power in the middle of a session every other day!"
