Artist: Marco Benevento
Song: "Limbs of a Pine" (feat. Kalmia Traver of Rubblebucket)
Album: TigerFace
"Before we started working on the track, we all ate and drank together. My wife told Kal a story about how she can't drink whiskey anymore 'cause otherwise you'd find her body painted in the limbs of a pine tree. I guess Kal was inspired by that story," Marco Benevento explains to Rolling Stone. "For the session the mics were always on and the tape was running. We didn't do a lot of thinking – there seemed to be barely any room for thought. The outward onslaught of music output from Kal and Stuart Bogie, who was also with us playing saxophone and adding background vocals, was endless."
