A British Airways employee claimed that Oasis singer Liam Gallagher assaulted her by grabbing her buttocks as she checked him onto a flight at London's Gatwick Airport last Friday.
Gallagher was en route to Rio de Janeiro, where his band was to perform at the Rock in Rio concert, when he allegedly made a rude gesture towards the thirty-year-old flight attendant and grabbed her posterior prior to boarding his flight in the north terminal. The flight attendant has since filed a complaint to the airline as well as to the Sussex police, who are opening an investigation into the matter. At press time, a spokesperson for the band said she was unaware of the incident.
This isn't Gallagher's first tangle with an airline. Two years ago, while drunk, he threw food and other objects at fellow Cathay Pacific passengers during a flight from Hong Kong to Australia. The captain left the cockpit to intervene, threatening to handcuff the singer to his seat, divert the plane and throw off his thirty-person entourage. Cathay Pacific subsequently banned the Gallagher and his brother Noel from flying on their planes.
